henna is a natural red dye but you can add other natural ingredients to it to change the color from different shades of red, browns, and jet black. If you want jet black then you need to mix indigo with it.

http://www.hennaforhair.com - this will give you all the information you need about henna, including pictures. It also has a comprehensive henna e-book that explains what henna is, ingredients needed, how you mix and apply it, and all that good stuff.Looking for a non-chemical black hair dye for men?
you can use a demi permanent color. you get it in a beauty supply store but there's no ammonia in it so its gentle for hair. usually lasts about a month to 6 wks and gently fades out so no need to ';touch up'; roots
Manic Panic Is a vegetable stain (no harmful chemicals and will not damage your hair only color it for a while usually 3-6 weeks) costs about 10 bucks and one container can last for like 2-3 dyes. :] good luck my good sir.
Try black shoe polish. Make sure to stay out of the rain.
